PRESS RELEASE
Patriots MC UK Supporting Corps Tour 2008
Three Royal Signals soldiers will soon embark on a challenging fund raising adventure in support of the Army Benevolent Fund & Help for Heroes service charities.
Major Craig Sutherland, Sergeant Yogi Welsh & WO2 Colin Bell will be riding their own motorbikes 4000 miles on a ‘whistle stop’ tour throughout the UK and Europe and visiting major units of the Royal Corps of Signals and three armed services motorcycle clubs on the way. The team hope to raise at least £20,000 and have already raised £7,000; a fantastic start by any standards!
The team have managed to secure two Patrons, ‘Long Way Round’ Co-Star Charlie Boorman and Signal Officer in Chief, Brigadier Ted Flint, and Ewan McGregor has also offered his support and best wishes.
The Corps Tour Team will arrive at the Patriots HQ and Pub in Crumlin, South Wales on Wednesday April 23rd. The Patriots Motorcycle Club, who are a club for serving and ex-serving members of HM Forces, will meet the team and escort them back to their pub where they can rest and enjoy the hospitality put on for them. There will be live music by Terry Clarke and local rock band SEKA and an auction and raffle to help the team raise funds.
The Patriots MC extend a warm welcome to the Corps Tour Team and appeal to locals and other visitors to join them for a fun evening and show their support.

Freddie 'Steady' Krc has long been a mainstay of the Austin, Texas music scene having drummed for among others; Joe Ely and Jerry Jeff Walker.
In 1988 Freddie played drums on three tracks for my 'Call Up A Hurricane' album and in return I sang harmony on two of his tracks; 'Loser's Gumbo' and 'Devil's Hand'.
This show features Freddie in his other role of bandleader ... he's a great singer and writer.
For this show he's accompanied by my dear friend Wes McGhee.

I am performing a new, unrecorded song called 'Paul Robeson in the Rhondda'
which I co-wrote with Kathryn Lay.
'He cast a mighty shadow stretching from New Jersey
it hangs there like an echo in the hushed library
where stubborn, ancient walls were built to keep him out
as the ivy evening falls and the football boys shout ...
come along with me past the rust and burned out Hondas
I'll show you a night - Paul Robeson in the Rhondda

Written on our Hands David Woolley
David Woolley published his last collection of poems in 1994 - the year he came to Swansea to work on the UK Year of Literature 1995. Since then he has overseen hundreds of events and book launches at the Dylan Thomas Centre, and now, after twelve years, launches a new collection of his own from Headland Press - "an incisive wit" Peter Finch; "great poise and balance" Fiona Sampson; "fragile-seeming but tensile webs of sound" John Goodby; "delightfully inventive and original" Gladys Mary Coles.

"A Last Thursday event
Peter Read and Terry Clarke - Dylan Thomas & Friends - Poetry & Music
After eight years of playing Dylan Thomas, Peter Read reveals his thoughts and feelings about his relationship with Thomas through his own poems, and these are interspersed with songs in a variety of blues, jazz and country styles from Terry Clarke, who was influenced many years ago by Dylan's poetry, and since coming to live in the area has written a lot of songs in homage to the bard. The evening will include our usual 'Last Thursday' open mic slot for readers from the floor, and finish with a set from Terry in company with friends Huw Rees on drums and percussion and Vic Doyle on bass and guitar."

Monday 7th November - Sunday 20th November shows
and recording with David Childers in and around Charlotte, North Carolina,
West Virginia and Ohio.
... from David Childer's website ... Next week,
on November 7, Terry Clarke, a friend from Scotland who writes and sings
songs influenced by our own rockabilly and country music, will arrive
to do a string of shows with us. I met Terry at the Celtic Connections
Festival in Glasgow, Scotland which I played in January, 2004. After a
jam session at the Howood Inn in Howood, Scotland, we decided we liked
the combination, and ended up playing three sets together at the festival.
We also decided we should do it more. We will be playing in the Charlotte
area, and in Ohio, and West Virginia. Some will be band shows. Others
will be songwriter nights with other writers, including me. Check out
the website schedule for more details. www.davidchilders.com. There you
will also find links to Terry's website. Terry's first show will be this
Wednesday night, November 9, at Rodi in Gastonia. 8 pm show time.www.davidchilders.com

"Thanks
to all who have come out, especially those who took time to hear Terry
Clarke, our recent guest from the UK, who played some fine music for us
all while he was here. Just before he left yesterday, he told me that
the places we had shown him were his favorites in the USA so far. A lot
of that was because of the good people he met. Thanks. We know we have
great fans, but it is always good to have that belief reinforced."
